I assume you have read my previous post which highlighted Melon as negative calories fruit.
I will go into more detail here, explaining about the negative calories diet. This can be viewed as a Complete guide of getting thinner by eating.

As we can see, the point of consuming a food is to digest it and extract the value it brings to our body. This process starts in our mouth, where we chew the food and smother the food with our saliva (which contain enzymes), next the food goes into our esophagus. You can treat the esophagus as a long subway rail that wiggle and forces the food to our stomach. Then our stomach releases gastic acids to digest the foods. Then it delivers everything to your small intestine. In there several enzymes are released to help breaking down the food. Then the food goes to the large intestine where it will be absorbed by your body.

The whole process can take more than 10 hours to complete and our body needs energy to do it. The core point of this guide is the fact that several foods contains so little energy that our body will need more energy to digest it through the long process and absorbs the nutrients. So by eating these type of foods, we hope the calories intake vs outtake balance will be negative.

Controversy arose near this topic, since several experts believe that the energy that our body use to digest food is set as a total percentage of the energy contained in the foods that we consume. So meaning there will be no negative calories food. Be it true or not, my list of negative calories foods are all comprised of foods with very few calories so that it can promote a healthier living through a diet.

The list of the most extreme negative calories vegetables are:

Onions and Garlics

Onions and Garlics have natural oils inside that can chop down fat. They can even wash out fat and increase your metabolism process.

Cucumber is very good for your kidney as it rouse your kidney to rinse uric acid and also provoke the removal of fat from your body.

Tomato contains a great deal of potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C. Tomato is very low in calories hence making it very important food for weight reducing diets. Tomato also good for your metabolism as it helps kidney in releasing more water.

Cabbage acts as a natural diuretic and can helps break away fats.

Celery hold a plentiful supplies of vitamin c. It also provides fibre and important minerals such as Folacin and Potassium, which are good for your metabolism wich will clean up our system.

Lettuce can wash out fatty cells. It is also rich in iron and magnesium that is good for our body immunity.

Most of this ingredients can be found in Salad. So combine these ingredients in salad, coupled with my diet salad dressing and you can become thinner by eating.

The list for ALL negative calories foods apart from the listed above are: beet, carrots, cauliflower, peppers, radish, spinach, apricot, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, mandarin orange, melon, watermelon, peaches, plums, grapefruit, guava, lemon.

Yes, sounds like good news for the food addicts people. You can even get thinner by consuming food. Sadly this type of food is limited to fruits and vegetables only. These fruits are Apricot, Mandarin orange, Blackberry, Melon Cantaloupe, Blackcurrant, Peaches, Guava, Honeydew melon and Lemon.
For this upcoming summer I recommend using melon as base ingredient.

Melons is a famous fruit famed for its fresh colour. Especially during a hot summer, a fresh chilled green melon can indeed look very appealing to taste. Melon is also famed for its juicy texture that spill out juice when bitten. Beside of its colour, taste and soft texture, Melon also has several good effects toward your body.

There two type of wide known melons, the muskmelon and the watermelon. However in this recipe I will use the muskmelon. The muskmelon that you will find frequently in the store are the Cantaloupe and the honeydew. Let's use the honeydew for the juice because honeydew contains so few calories. Your body will need more calories just to DIGEST the honeydew, much more calories than the fruit provide.

Melon contains Vitamin C and high potassium content, with traces of Vitamin B complex.
Melon also have the diuretic function. The diuretic function of Melon will help body to release fluid. Including melon in your diet can aid in reducing fluid retention. However since the melon interferes with your digestion, I suggest to consume it when your stomach is empty to get the negative calories effect. A melon juice can indeed be a refreshing beverage in the summer season.

Hop on and grab some melons, chill it in refrigerator, PEEL the skin (yes, some people forget to do this when they make a melon juice, chop it and put it in your blender.

I am sure that I am not the only one who feel like eating those sweet stuff when I am stressed.
When life gets tough or when I am being pressured I can't help myself but to grab those high carbohydrates food and put it in my mouth.

And it's like that I am transfering my stress to my waist !

Worse of all, it get worse at night before I go to bed. Studies showed that when we are stressed we tend to reach into something that feels comforting. Sad to say, but chocolate and ice cream are what we considered comforting.

Carbohydrates can stimulate powerful release of pleasure-producing hormones in your body.
To avoid taking those chocolates and cakes, I prefer we make a substitute for them.

Tomato soup is believed to have calming effects, especially if consumed at night.

Prepare sandwich with a little ham and cheese
Instead of taking cookies, bring sandwiches in your bag so that you can always have a choice not to take the cookies but take the sandwiches instead.

Sweet fruit
Strawberry, peach and banana are better than chocolate

Sweet grain cereals
Those cereals can be addictive too. Pick the one with a hint of honey. Don't overdo it though.

These choices may not be completely calories free but at least they are less harmful for your waistline, "because they have fewer calories than candy bars or other calorie-rich foods you might normally seek" says Leigh Gibson, PhD, a senior research fellow at University College London who has studied this phenomenon.

Paris Hilton is definitely not the one who is going to read a diet recipes.

I could not hide my astonishment seeing Paris. In her book "Confessions of a Heiress" she described her method of diet which is called Paris Diet.
She lightheartedly describing the "Paris Diet" as eating as much chocolate as you can, eating popcorn at night, and never take diet pills.

On some occasions, instead of telling a diet secret tips or recipes, she told a story that she stays slim simply because her metabolism is good. Which I think is an understatement her metabolism is super fast if she really eats what she claimed.

She said that she likes chips and pasta and consumes it as much as us.
Here are her three statements:

“I try to be sensible, but I really think each individual should do what suits them. I believe that life is too short to be worrying about diets.”

I bet she never has to become vegetarian and start cooking this recipe neither also eating salad with diet dressings.

“Enjoy life, eat carbs at night if you want. You can always dance the calories off. I’m always on the go and that burns plenty of calories. I’m really lucky that I have a naturally good figure.”

“McDonald’s french fries, but they are just the best so I can’t help it.”

Well perhaps I should get naked in Ibiza and get caught on tape to have her fast metabolism.
For the rest of us diet is compulsory and a way to make life MORE ENJOYABLE.


This is a vegetarian rice recipe that I found. Definitely a way to make it more exciting.
I found the recipe from this website.


  • 1/2 c. Rice
  • 3 c. Water
  • 1 tsp salt per cup of rice
  • 1/8 tsp Mexican saffron
  • 2 tbs oil or ghee
  • 1 tbs raisins


Boil the water.
In the meantime, wash the rice (3 times if possible). In a frying pan, heat the oil, salt, and rice.

Sauteeing the uncooked rice will bring it to the same temperature as the water, so boiling will not stop once the rice is added.

Once water is boiling, add saffron and raisins. Let the raisins boil so that they get plump and juicy.

Add the rice. If you've done things right, the water should keep boiling. Continue to boil it for a while; let it steam until the rice begins to come to the top. Then turn the flame low and let it cook for 12 minutes.

** Note Mexican saffron is somehow different from regular saffron, so make sure you use the right kind.

Salad dressing is important toward your salad.
One could not get enough taste from a dressing that is made from lemon juice and olive oil. However a mayo and mustard dominated dressing is a serious threat toward your diet.

Here's a quick dressing recipe that is delicious but also low on calories.


  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons Splenda
  • 4 tablespoons apple vinegar
  • 1 onion
  • 1 1/2 teapoon salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of Canola oil
  • 1 egg white


Chop the onion to small pieces, then put all the ingredients to food processor or blender. Mix it until it's all blended.

This will make a good main course for your lunch. Or even your dinner, just remember not to add another food since this food already contains enough calories for a main course.


  • 1 can Spaghetti Sauce - no sugar
  • 1 cup of low fat milk
  • 1/2 of a package low fat Cream Cheese
  • peperoni
  • Mushrooms
  • salt and pepper to taste


Soften the cream cheese first by heating it. Then mix all the ingredients into a large saucepan and heat it until it simmer. Then reduce the heat until the cream cheese is well mixed. Stir thoroughly and remove it to cool.

A: Initially I used mybloglog and Yahoo! Answer. However I also rank quite well on few search terms and started to get traffic from Google. I also used social bookmarks sites such as Digg and Stumble Upon. After 28 May 2007 I did not do any promotion at all except stumbling my own site.

Q: Do you recommend fad diet?
A: I do recommend fad diet if you are looking for short term weight loss. We know that sometimes we have pressing situation which requires us to lose weight quickly, and that's where fad diet is useful. However I don't depend on fad diet to maintain my weight.

A: I do aerobic classes several times in a week, coupled with light abs exercises and cardio.

Here’s useful information I gathered for those who’s seeing food as numerical objects measured in calories (calories nerd). Okay, that includes me to the list also. The problem for us the nerd is that we always want to bite into something but most of the time, that ‘something’ will disrupt our diet.

With the recent boom of Japanese restaurant here that offers sushi, I find that the solution is indeed lies on the hand of Japanese. Japanese’s sushi is a simple and healthy food for our diet. It includes seaweed, a little rice, sea food and vegetables. I find that this sushi is a perfect food for the calories nerd. In fact it is also a good food for those with high blood pressure.

Make sure that you choose only the sushi that includes seafood or vegetables as the ingredients. Not those fancy fusion sushi that is mixed with cheese and pasta. Salmon, tuna and eel sushi contain approximately 200 calories per four ounce serving. The number is cut by half if the sushi uses Shrimp and octopus. That’s not including the nutrition that the fish holds, such as: B Vitamins, selenium and Omega 3 acids. Studies has proven that those omega 3 acids actually good for your health.

Don’t forget also that the sushi comes with a Japanese dressing sauce called “wasabi”. This greenish sauce is rich in vitamin C. Sushi also comes in very small portion compared to the Super Size Mc D neighbor. It helps us to get used of small portion of food (heck if the calories nerd are not getting used to it already).

Sushi also served with japanese ginger called 'gari'. This ginger helps with digestion and also fights bacteria.

The raw seafood ingredients used in sushi are considered better than the cooked one. The raw seafood contain enzymes and nutrients that are good to human body. However make sure that the ingredients are really fresh. One way to check is by seeing whether the restaurant is crowded or not. A crowded restaurant is least likely to stock raw seafood for long.

So hop around to the nearest sushi bar and eat heartily.

Salmon is a close friend of people who are in diet. This is because Salmon provide rich taste, as well as soft and meaty feel on its body. Salmon also contain omega-3 fatty acids.
Probably you have heard of 'good' fats and 'bad' fats. Salmon contain Omega 3 acids which are the good fats. Salmon's calories also contain 0% carbohydrates. So fish, especially Salmon is a must for those in diet. Research has shown that unsaturated fats are good for the health and does not threaten weight loss diet.

However it's better not to fry the Salmon, it's advised to roast or to grill the salmon instead.
Here's a grilled salmon recipe that does not take a long time to prepare:


  • fillet of salmon, with skin
  • salt and peppers
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup dry mustard (such as Coleman's)
  • a little sugar, 1 teaspoon/pound
  • oregano powder

  • Prepare the charcoal grill. Make sure to leave it until it's really hot. You can see white ash coating the coal when it's ready. After that shift the coals into one side of the grill.
  • Sprinkle both salmon sides with salt and peppers LIGHTLY
  • Place the salmon into the cool side of the grill, the skin side down
  • After the skin becomes crisp, turn it around
  • Cover the salmon in stainless steel bowl so that the heat from beneath directly penetrates the fish
  • Leave it 15 minutes
  • Open the cover and brush all the salmon with olive oil and sprinkle it with Oregano
  • Grill it again for the final 5 minutes

This spice tea should offer a refreshment using natural fruit flavor to sweetened. Excellent for those in weight-loss programs especially during summer.

Ingredients and instructions:

  • Prepare a tall glass and fill half of it with your tea

Everybody, which includes diabetic, (except supermodels) loves chocolate. However for diabetic, chocolate can help improve the body's processing of sugar. That, in theory, could guard against diabetes.

That only applies for dark chocolate though. And you also must consider your weight gain from the chocolate. Here's a little chocolate shake recipe that don't add much toward your gain and certainly good toward your body.


1 cup skimmed milk
1 tblspn unsweetened cocoa powder
1 sachet of artificial sweetener
ice cubes


Just mix all ingredients in a blender and keep blending until frothy.

Banana Nut Cake


1/3 c margarine
1/3 c sugar substitute
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c banana (mashed till smooth)
1/4 c chopped walnuts


  • Mix and put in margarine, sugar, and sugar substitute together at medium speed until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, and mix at medium speed until creamy, scraping down the bowl before and after adding eggs and vanilla.
  • Stir flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and walnuts. Mix at medium speed until creamy.
  • Spread those evenly in a 9-inch square cake pan that has been sprayed with pan spray or greased with margarine.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until cake pulls away from the sides of the pan
  • Cool on a wire rack to room temperature. Cut four by four.

Banana makes a wonderful ingredients in diet shake.
A banana consist of protein, carotene, potassium, calories, carbohydrates and fibers

Cholesterol and fat is very minimal in banana. However for the shakes I recommend that you use only half of a banana per serving.

First you need the ingredients for a Banana diet shake:

Half banana, preferably refrigerated for a night
1/2 cup of low fat milk
Three tablespoon of low fat sugar free yogurt
Two tablespoon of oat

Then mix all the ingredients in food processor and blend it until smooth. Better serve chilled.
There you go, your milk, a little carbohydrate and fruit in one serve.
